The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office served a notice of suspicion in absentia to a 31-year-old resident of the Genichesk district of collaboration with the occupation authorities. The woman is charged with collaboration under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the agency, the investigation found that in November 2023, the suspect took the position of "Head of the Department of Information and Public Relations" in the illegally created "Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kherson Region". In this position, she was in charge of a unit that was engaged in spreading the influence of the occupation authorities among local residents.

The investigation is ongoing and is being carried out by the SBU in Kherson region.

Recently, in Kherson, SBI officers together with the SBU foiled the plans of a defector. During the occupation of the city, the man worked in a seized colony, and after the liberation of the region, he tried to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was detained.

Earlier it became known that a former employee of the Northern Correctional Colony No. 90 went over to the enemy and carried out criminal orders and instructions of the occupiers for money.

In addition, the court found a former employee of the penal colony guilty of high treason committed under martial law. The man was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of his special rank of Major of Internal Service. While in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region, the man voluntarily agreed to work for the enemy in an illegally created law enforcement agency, which was part of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation and acted under the laws of the aggressor country.

The court also sentenced a resident of Kherson who voluntarily agreed to serve in the Russian police during the occupation. Police investigators also notified the "first deputy" of the illegally created by the occupiers "detention center" of suspicion of committing a war crime. The man ensured the forced transfer of more than 1500 convicts to the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson region.
