Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, served the law enforcement officer with a notice of suspicion that he had promised the men to remove them from the list of persons liable for military service in exchange for money.

According to the SBI, in early March 2025, the law enforcement officer, taking advantage of his official position, decided to organize earnings on conscripts wanted by the territorial center for social support.

The dealer involved an acquaintance of the former law enforcement officer in the scam. He took money from clients and had contacts with other officials.

The accomplices offered the men to resolve their issue with the SCC for USD 3.5 thousand through as yet unidentified officials who could log into a special system and cancel the wanted list. In case of refusal, the law enforcement officer threatened to help the TCC find the wanted person and bring him or her to criminal responsibility.

On March 13, 2025, the suspects were detained while receiving USD 3.5 thousand. The law enforcement officer and his accomplice were served a notice of suspicion of influence peddling (Article 369-2(3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The issue of choosing a type of detention is being decided. If proven guilty, the men face up to eight years in prison.

Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation reported the exposure of an organized group of doctors who helped healthy men of military age to obtain medical documents that allowed the medical and social expert commission to declare them unfit for service.

Before that, the head of the Odesa consultative polyclinic department of one of the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was accused of corruption and was served with a notice of suspicion.

A doctor of a medical institution was also detained in Odesa. She is suspected of taking bribes to confirm her disability.
