The head of the Standing Committee on Spatial Development, Land Management and Regulation of Land Relations of Odesa City Council, Serhiy Strashnyi, closed the meeting on December 5 without completing the consideration of the agenda items due to a scandal with the deputies.

The scandal occurred between him and deputy Zhanna Mandrychenko, who left the meeting after agreeing with the chairman of the commission that if she missed voting on a block of issues, the deputies would consider it again after her return.

However, when she returned to the meeting room, Serhiy Strashnyi did not suggest that the deputies return to the block of issues that had been voted on in Zhanna Mandrychenko's absence, but insisted on first considering the entire agenda and then returning to that block afterwards so that she could vote.

However, Zhanna Mandrychenko persisted, citing the rules of procedure and accusing Serhiy Strashny of manipulation. She was joined by MP Tetyana Plaksiy, who accused Serhiy Strashnyi of putting pressure on the deputies to vote for the controversial block of issues while Zhanna Mandrychenko was out.

"You have just put this issue to a vote without explanation and literally pressured the members of the commission to vote for it," the deputy said.

Serhiy Strashnyi, in turn, said that Zhanna Mandrychenko was interfering with the meeting and closed the meeting without completing the agenda.

Intent asked Serhiy Strashnyi and Zhanna Mandrychenko for a comment on the scandal, but has not yet received a response. Zhanna Mandrychenko is a member of the European Solidarity faction in the city council, and Serhiy Strashnyi is a representative of Trust the Deeds.
