The case of a lecturer at one of Kherson's local universities suspected of collaborative activities (Part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been brought to court.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation found that in July 2022, the woman agreed to take the position of "Dean of the Faculty of Psychology" of a higher education institution established by the occupation authorities. This pseudo-university was registered under Russian laws and operated on the basis of the seized Kherson University under the name "State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education of Kherson Region "Kherson State Pedagogical University".

In this position, the suspect organized the educational process in accordance with Russian educational standards, taught disciplines in Russian and participated in events held in the universities of the aggressor country.

Currently, the indictment has been submitted to the court, which will decide on her liability for cooperation with the occupiers.

In addition, the prosecutor's office has referred to the court the case of a 62-year-old teacher from Kherson, who headed a department at the occupiers' pseudo-university and implemented Russian standards. She will be tried for collaboration. The accused, a doctor of psychology, voluntarily accepted the occupiers' offer to head a department in an educational institution illegally established by the Russians during the occupation of the city. This "university" was organized on the basis of the seized Kherson State University and worked according to Russian educational standards.

Recently, the court announced the sentences of two pensioners for managing occupation schools in Kherson region. They were convicted of collaboration, but so far in absentia.

Also, a former lyceum director from Kakhovka district of Kherson region, who was engaged in propaganda and helped to implement Russian standards in education, will be brought to trial. The woman conducted propaganda activities, forcing students and staff to sing the Russian anthem every morning.
