Kherson Region Collaborators Sentenced to 15 and 10 Years in Prison

Recently, a resident of the Kherson region was sentenced to 15 years in prison for serving in the occupation police, and the so-called "Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Kherson region" was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

According to the Prosecutor's Office of Kherson region, during the temporary occupation of Kherson region, the man entered into a criminal conspiracy with the invaders and voluntarily took the position of"police commandant of the platoon" in the so-called "Novokakhovka city police department."

"In his pseudo-position, he performed the tasks of an illegally created law enforcement agency assigned by the occupation authorities," the agency said.

The court found the man guilty of collaboration. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with the deprivation of the right to hold positions in law enforcement agencies, public authorities, public administration, local self-government and engage in activities related to the provision of public services for a period of 15 years.

Prosecutors also proved that in September 2022, a resident of Beryslav district cooperated with the enemy and took the position of the so-called "acting Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of Kherson region". In this pseudo-position, he performed organizational, administrative and economic functions.

"The man organized the work of the so-called 'Department of Breeding Livestock', coordinated plans, programs and regulations of the structural units of the occupation department," the prosecutor's office added.

He was also found guilty of collaboration. The verdict sentenced him to the maximum penalty for this crime - 10 years in prison with confiscation of all property. He was also deprived of the right to hold positions in state and local government for 15 years.
