Kherson Community Recovers 80 Hectares Worth ₴2M After Legal Action

With the intervention of the prosecutor's office, 80 hectares of land worth almost UAH 2 million were returned to the Kherson community.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, in 2018, one of the companies received the land plot in question for lease for production activities related to landscaping in Kherson and the region. However, contrary to the current legislation and the terms of the lease, the lessee did not pay the rent during 2022-2024, owing money to the local budget.

Therefore, in September 2024, the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office filed a claim with the Commercial Court of Odesa Oblast to recover the debt from the company and return the land plot to the ownership of the Kherson territorial community. During the court proceedings, the company paid the debt and entered into an additional agreement with the landlord, which terminated the contractual relationship.

"In connection with the voluntary fulfillment of the defendant's claims, the court closed the proceedings ," the statement said.

Earlier, prosecutors from the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office defended in court the state's right to forest land plots with a total area of more than 42 hectares. Also, in Mykolaiv region, the state returned to the reserve lands that were used for private agriculture. The value of the land is over UAH 33 million. In addition, in Mykolaiv region, a gymnasium principal was found to be making money by renting land belonging to the educational institution. The value of the land is almost 300 thousand hryvnias, the area is 10 hectares. This land plot is in permanent use of the Novofedorivska gymnasium of the Kazankivska village council and is intended for personal subsidiary farming.
