Kaufman's tobacco trough is on the verge of bankruptcy

The Economic Court of Odesa Region has opened bankruptcy proceedings against Tedis Ukraine Limited Liability Company.

According to the Center for Public Investigations, the court issued the relevant ruling at the request of Accord Gold LLC, which claimed that Tedis Ukraine owed it UAH 38 million under a supply agreement dated July 31, 2025.

Tedis Ukraine LLC, in turn, acknowledged its debt to Accord Gold LLC and did not object to the opening of bankruptcy proceedings.

Pursuant to the terms of the supply agreement, Accord Gold paid Tedis Ukraine UAH 57 million 479.4 thousand. Subsequently, the right of claim under the said agreement was partially transferred to LLC FC Mia Group in the amount of UAH 19 million 417.3 thousand. Thus, the amount of claims of Accord Gold LLC to Tedis Ukraine LLC amounted to UAH 38 million.

Tedis Ukraine Limited Liability Company is known for the fact that until 2025 its ultimate beneficiary was Boris Kaufman, a businessman and owner of the Vertex United group, which includes a number of premium hotels and sports clubs. Together with his business partner Oleksandr Hranovsky, he also owned the bankrupt Platinum Bank and 75% of Odesa Airport. "Tedis Ukraine was Borys Kaufman's main asset and in 2023 ranked third in terms of revenue in Ukraine, increasing its income by 7% and earning UAH 64 billion 950 million.

Currently, according to the YouControl service, the ultimate beneficiaries of the LLC are the British Taylor Duxbury Richard Mark and Fenhals Richard Dorian, as well as Danylo Roschenko from Kyiv.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has recognized that Tedis Ukraine Limited Liability Company failed to comply with the previous decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine in full. The company was fined UAH 274 million 227.2 thousand.

in August 2022, the Kyiv Commercial Court upheld the claim of Tedis Ukraine Limited Liability Company and canceled the decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine on violation of the legislation on protection of economic competition and imposition of a fine.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine recognized that Tedis Ukraine Limited Liability Company failed to fully comply with the previous decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. The company was fined UAH 274 million 227.2 thousand.
