Intent.Insight: How the political map of Odesa has changed without Trukhanov

On October 14, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy revoked the citizenship of Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, and on October 20, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Odesa served notice of suspicion to Hryhoriy Didenko, the head of the Odesa Regional Council, and his MP wife.

Intent.Insight could not ignore these events, so on October 21, the guests of the studio were Mykhailo Shmushkovych, head of the European Solidarity faction in the Odesa Regional Council, and Oleh Etnarovych, head of the Trust the Deeds faction in the Odesa City Council. On October 14, the topic of depriving Hennadiy Trukhanov of citizenship was discussed on air with Anatoliy Boyko, head of the Odesa regional organization of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, and Kateryna Madens, a journalist for the online publication Anti-Corruption Dimension.

As for Hryhoriy Didenko, he and his wife are suspected of declaring false information. According to the investigation, the official and the MP failed to declare property worth more than UAH 8 million in their annual property declarations for 2021-2023. In addition, according to the NABU, the SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit to recognize the couple's assets worth almost UAH 5 million as unjustified and recover them in favor of the state. Investigators found that the head of the regional council and his wife, an MP, acquired property worth almost UAH 5 million in 2021-2024 without confirmed sources of income. The assets include payments for apartments and two Audi SQ8 cars (2021 and 2024).
