In Vilkovo, houses have been destroyed and there is no electricity following a massive attack

On September 26, Vilkove in the Odesa region is recovering from a massive nighttime attack by Russian drones. The strikes damaged residential buildings and cars; there is no electricity, and water is being supplied on a scheduled basis.

This was reported by the Izmail District State Administration.

According to the district administration, the town of Vilkove was targeted. The attack damaged residential buildings and other infrastructure.

Currently, the city has no electricity. DTEK specialists are working to restore power. They plan to restore electricity by the end of the day on September 26.

The community’s critical infrastructure is running on generators, and water is being supplied on a scheduled basis.

Residents are asked to use electricity sparingly once power is restored, as the grid has limited capacity.

The day before, Vylkove was also without power. On September 25, the power was out from 3:05 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cause was cited as damage to power lines in the Bolhrad District.

Reni and the villages of Dolynske and Lymanke were also without power at that time.

Vylkove is a city in the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta, in the extreme southwestern corner of Ukraine and the Odesa Oblast. It is the last settlement on the banks of the Danube before it flows into the Black Sea; the city’s unofficial nickname is the “Ukrainian Venice.” The distance to the regional center is approximately 207 kilometers. The city is the administrative center of the Vilkovo City Community.

As previously reported by Intent, Russian troops attacked a highway in the Odesa region. The strike damaged three trucks and resulted in civilian casualties.
