In the Odesa region, SBU officers detained the director of a transportation company and two of his accomplices. They are suspected of organizing a scheme involving fake reservations to avoid mobilization.

This was reported by the SBU Office in Odesa Oblast.

The detainees face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the case file, the suspects offered people employment with “exemption” from mobilization. At the same time, they registered the men as drivers only on paper. Later, these men did not show up for work and did not make any scheduled trips. The organizers of the scheme embezzled their wages.

The violations were uncovered as a result of comprehensive investigative measures.

Under the law, employees subject to military service at critically important enterprises—particularly in the transportation sector—are entitled to an official exemption from mobilization. Under Government Resolution No. 76, such companies are allocated a quota to grant deferrals to their employees whose work is essential for the company’s uninterrupted operation.

As Intent previously reported, a farmer in the Odesa region is suspected of extorting $6,000 to remove a conscript from the wanted list.

In exchange for this money, he also promised to influence officials to remove the man from the wanted list inthe “Oberig” system and exempt him from mobilization through fictitious employment at a company with “critically important” status.
