In the Kherson region, two women were sentenced to up to 15 years for working for the occupiers

Based on evidence provided by the Security Service of Ukraine, two residents of the Kherson region were convicted in absentia; according to the investigation, they voluntarily collaborated with the Russian occupiers. One of them participated in organizing a pseudo-referendum in Nova Kakhovka, while the other held a position in the occupying “Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.”

According to the SBU, in September 2022, a resident of Nova Kakhovka joined the work of the occupying “precinct election commission.” She distributed “ballots,” checked voters against the lists, and campaigned for support of Russia.

Under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the woman was sentenced in absentia to 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. She was also barred from engaging in any activities related to the electoral process for 15 years.

Another convicted woman is a native of Beryslav. According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), she voluntarily agreed to takea “position” in the occupying “Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.”

Under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, she was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property and was barred from holding relevant positions.

The investigation was conducted by SBU officers in the Kherson region under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Recently, in the Kherson region, an indictment was filed against four local residents accused of conducting business activities in collaboration with the aggressor state. According to the investigation, they ensured the operation of an agricultural enterprise in occupied Kakhovka in accordance with Russian law.
