Four farmers in the Kherson region will stand trial for collaborating with Russia

In the Kherson region, an indictment has been filed against four local residents accused of conducting business activities in collaboration with the aggressor state. According to the investigation, they ensured the operation of an agricultural enterprise in occupied Kakhovka under Russian law.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to investigators, the four men, aged 38 to 51, acted as an organized group with defined roles. First, through proxies and fictitious agreements, they transferred shares in the Ukrainian enterprise’s authorized capital, after which they re-registered it under Russian law.

The enterprise was subsequently integrated into the Russian economic system. Specifically, the accused entered into financial leasing agreements with a Russian state-owned company and received combine harvesters, reapers, and other agricultural equipment.

They also kept records of production, prepared reports, and submitted financial documentation to the occupying authorities, specifically the so-called “Agricultural Department of the Kherson Regional Military-Civil Administration” and the “Ministry of Agriculture.”

According to the prosecutor’s office, the company established trade relations with Russian counterparties and paid taxes to the Russian Federation’s federal budget.

The defendants have been placed on the wanted list. They will be tried in absentia.

Earlier,Vasyl Malik, the head of an agricultural enterprise in the Kherson region, was sentenced for collaborating with Russian authorities during the occupation. Instead of ceasing operations, he brought the company’s operations under Russian law and continued business activities in the occupied territory.
