A court in Mykolaiv has remanded in custody in absentia a resident of Kherson region suspected of aiding the aggressor state. According to the investigation, the farmer cooperated with the Russian military, handed over equipment and grain to them and helped equip the occupiers' positions in the Genichesk district.
This is evidenced by the decision of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.
According to the case file, the suspect lived in Ivanivka and headed the Tavria-Lan farm. Investigators believe that after the occupation of a part of the Kherson region, he established contacts with representatives of the Russian army, ensured the deployment of Russian equipment on the territory of his farm and helped the occupation forces with material resources.
According to court materials, in the period from March to November 2022, the man, with the support of representatives of Russian armed groups, illegally seized equipment, livestock and grain from the Ruga Odin and Dolphin farms, effectively taking away the property from the owners. The case involves tractors, combines, agricultural machinery and other equipment that were subject to commodity examinations.
He also helped to transfer resources of municipal and private enterprises of the Genichesk district to the Russian military for the arrangement of checkpoints and military positions. In addition, he resettled Russian soldiers in the homes of local residents who had left their homes due to the occupation.
Prosecutors emphasized that the man was in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region, did not appear at the investigators' calls and was put on the wanted list. The court concluded that there were risks of hiding the suspect, influencing witnesses, and continuing to cooperate with the occupation authorities. As a result, the judge granted the investigation's request and ruled to take the man into custody without setting bail.
At the beginning of the year, law enforcement officers received permission to conduct a special pre-trial investigation against a resident of the Kherson region who organized the operation of elevators in favor of Russia during the occupation. According to the investigation, his actions caused Ukraine more than UAH 115 million in losses and helped supply the Russian army.
In 2025, more than 2 million tons of grain crops were exported from the territory of Ukraine. The main volumes were in the second half of the year - about 1.4 million tons.
