A rally in support of war prisoners and missing persons was held in Mykolaiv, attended by 250 people, including relatives of the defenders who do not lose hope of seeing their loved ones alive. The participants called on society not to forget about the prisoners and to continue the struggle for their return.

On June 8, another action was held in Mykolaiv to remind the public about war prisoners and missing defenders. The event was attended by relatives of the soldiers, their friends, and concerned citizens - about 250 people in total.

Among the participants was Olena - her son, a soldier with the 211th Battalion, was captured six months ago in the Kursk region. The woman comes to the rallies from Kherson region because she believes that her presence supports her son.

I know he is alive. Hope and faith are stronger than fear and uncertainty," the woman assured.

Alla has been waiting for her brother's return from captivity for three years now, and the last time she spoke to him was in September 2023. His goddaughter, her niece, who also does not lose faith, attends the rally with her.

Another participant is Tetiana, the wife of a missing soldier of the 25th Assault Brigade. Her husband disappeared 10 months ago in the Donetsk region, before he could even see his daughter.

Relatives of the captured and missing soldiers once again appealed to the public not to be silent, to support them and not to let them forget about everyone who is still missing.

In May, on the eve of Mother's Day, a rally was held to support the families of prisoners of war. The event was attended by about 300 people who wanted to draw attention to those who have not yet returned from the war. A convoy of cars with national flags drove through the city from the train station to Pier 8. Among the participants were relatives of the military, volunteers and concerned citizens who were reminded of the many defenders who remain in captivity or are missing.

The final stage of the large-scale exchange of prisoners in the "thousand for a thousand" format took place on May 25, with 303 defenders returning to Ukraine. The liberated soldiers defended the country in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, as well as in Kherson, Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Among them are 70 defenders of Mariupol who are finally returning home.
