A rally in support of the families of prisoners of war was held in Mykolaiv on Mother's Day. The event was attended by about 300 people who reminded of those who have not yet returned from the war.

This was reported by Suspilne. Mykolaiv.

On May 11, a car rally and a reminder of prisoners of war and missing persons took place in Mykolaiv. The event was dedicated to Mother's Day in support of women whose relatives are in captivity or have not yet returned home.

A convoy of cars with national flags drove through the city from the railway station to Pier 8. Participants - relatives of the military, volunteers and concerned citizens - reminded that many defenders are still in captivity or missing.

Alla, the sister of a prisoner of war from Mariupol, joined the action to draw attention to the fate of her brother, who has been in captivity for three years. The last time he got in touch was in 2023.

Alyona, a local resident, takes part in similar actions every week, although she has no relatives in captivity. She is convinced that if we do not talk about the missing and captured, they may be forgotten.

Iryna, the mother of missing soldier Mykola, said that she last heard from her son on January 29, 2025. The next day he disappeared in the Kursk direction. The woman and her family continue to search for him.

According to a police representative, the event was attended by about 300 people.

Also on May 11, a traditional rally in support of prisoners of war and missing persons was held on Deribasovskaya Street in Odesa. This time, it became known that the mother of one of the prisoners, Dmytro Kucher, had learned of his death at the front.

The day before, on May 6, Ukraine and Russia conducted another exchange of prisoners: 205 Ukrainian soldiers returned home, including three officers and 40 soldiers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The freed defenders fought in different areas - Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, Kyiv region, and also defended Mariupol.

This is the fifth exchange in 2025 and the 64th since the beginning of the full-scale war. A total of 4,757 Ukrainian citizens have been returned.
