In Mykolaiv, a court sentenced a woman who used Telegram to transmit information about the locations of Ukrainian military units. The locations included the territory of a sanatorium and a port clinic where military units were stationed.

This is evidenced by the verdict of the Zavodskyi District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the case file, in February 2025, the accused used the Telegram messenger to pass on information about the locations of the Ukrainian military in Mykolaiv to her interlocutor. The investigation established that on February 6, the woman sent a message with information about the military's presence on the territory of the Mykolaiv Regional Children's Tuberculosis Sanatorium.

Later that evening, she also disseminated information about the location of units of the Armed Forces and other military formations on the territory of the polyclinic department of the Mykolaiv Commercial Sea Port.

The court materials emphasize that this information was not publicly available and was not published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense or other authorized bodies. The transfer of such information, according to the investigation, could have created a threat of injury or destruction of the Ukrainian military if the information had reached representatives of the Russian Federation.

The accused used a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone and corresponded on Telegram from her account under her own login. Her actions were classified as disseminating information about the location of the Armed Forces under martial law. She pleaded guilty in court.

The court took into account that the defendant had no previous convictions, was raising a minor child alone, sincerely repented and transferred 400 thousand hryvnias to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As a result, the court sentenced her to five years in prison, but released her from serving the sentence with a probationary period of one year. She was also obliged to report regularly to the probation office and to notify the court of any change of residence or employment. The cell phone used to transmit the information was confiscated to the state.

Also in April, the SBU uncovered a network of informants in Mykolaiv. In November 2025, one of them passed information to Russian special services about the work of Ukrainian air defense and its location in the coastal zone of Mykolaiv through personal messages.
