A former chief specialist in the tourism and resorts sector of the Kherson Regional State Administration was fined 850 hryvnias for failing to file her tax returns for 2022 and 2023 on time. She must also pay court fees separately.
This is stated in a ruling by the Kherson City Court.
According to the case file, the woman worked at the Kherson Regional State Administration (RSA), and in November 2024, she was dismissed for being absent from work for more than four consecutive months without providing any explanation for her absence. Prior to that, from September 2022 to July 2024, her employment contract had been suspended.
The court established that the woman had been in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and returned to government-controlled territory on December 6, 2025. As a result, she was required to file her tax returns for 2022 and 2023 by March 6, 2026.
However, she did not file either tax return until August 19, 2026—more than five months late. In court, the official did not dispute the facts set forth in the protocols but explained that she was unaware of her obligation to file declarations and the established deadlines.
The court noted that ignorance of the law does not exempt one from legal liability. The ruling also stated that the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) had previously published guidelines on asset declarations for the relevant categories of officials.
The court found the woman guilty of two administrative offenses related to corruption and imposed a fine of 850 hryvnias. In addition, she will be required to pay 665 hryvnias and 60 kopecks in court fees.
