In Crimea, Russian security forces detained a young man for alleged terrorism. The young man faces up to 20 years in prison. The guy was taken into custody and faces up to 20 years in prison.

This was reported by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.

In the temporarily occupied Akyar (Sevastopol), Russian occupation forces detained a 19-year-old man and opened criminal proceedings against him under articles that Russia classifies as so-called "terrorist activities."

According to the occupation forces, the young man allegedly arrived in Sevastopol on the "instructions of Ukrainian curators". He is accused of collecting information about infrastructure facilities and participating in so-called "intelligence activities".

In addition, the Russian special services claim that the guy allegedly tried to set fire to equipment at the railway station in Inkerman, as well as a transformer power substation in the Nakhimovsky district of the city.

He was taken into custody and now faces up to 20 years in prison.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center emphasized that this is another case of systematic repression of youth in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. According to human rights activists, the Russian occupiers regularly use fabricated accusations of "terrorism" and "sabotage" as a tool of intimidation, and hide the personal data of detainees, making it difficult for relatives and human rights organizations to identify them.

Also in January, a Russian-controlled court sentenced a 34-year-old resident of Dzhankoy district to four years in prison in a penal colony. The reason for the prosecution was his publications on Telegram, which allegedly contained statements in support of the Kerch Bridge blowing up. The prosecution argued that the man, being the administrator of one of the channels, published materials that allegedly justified the attacks.
