The victory of any of the candidates for the presidency of the United States of America will not lead to the termination of the supply of aid to Ukraine, but they will act differently.
This opinion was expressed live on Intent.Insight by Mykhailo Shabanov, associate professor of political science at the Mechnikov National University of Kyiv, Ukraine.
The difference, in his opinion, will be that Kamala Harris will continue Joseph Biden's policy of helping Ukraine, and she will be consistent and predictable in this. She may even increase the range of items supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine from America. It may be pushed to increase it by the addition of soldiers from North Korea to the Russian army. Pyongyang's direct intervention in the conflict could even lead to permission to attack Russia deep into its territory with American weapons and the provision of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
"If we take Kamala Harris's foreign policy position, she makes it clear that she will continue Joseph Biden's line. With all the moderation, she may become more radical in defending the foreign policy vector. However, we should not expect quite radical moves on her part," the political analyst noted.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, is an unpredictable and more spontaneous politician. He may be even more favorable to Ukraine in terms of arms supplies, but he may also reduce or stop aid.
"Trump is more focused on domestic issues, but Trump is not predictable. He is a spontaneous person in many aspects. We can already see that he is trying to pursue a two-tiered policy towards Ukraine. On the one hand, he emphasizes that if he wins, he will negotiate directly with Putin and Zelensky to end the war, but he also understands that this may not work, so he has meetings with Zelensky and hopes that Trump will help Ukraine. It should be understood that Trump is a man of agreements, and he keeps them, but they are mostly spontaneous, and with age, spontaneity begins to dominate. The early Trump and the current one are slightly different people," the political scientist emphasized.
Mykhailo Shabanov assessed Donald Trump as a person who likes to be liked, and primarily by Americans. The American audience, according to the political scientist, is less interested in foreign policy, but in this area, the perception of the United States as a hegemonic country is important to them.
