Law enforcement officers detained the acting director of one of Odesa's medical institutions on suspicion of receiving an illegal benefit.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the suspect offered a citizen to organize the execution of medical documents that would allow him to avoid mobilization in exchange for USD 3 thousand. In particular, it was about fictitious inpatient treatment and diagnosis, which could serve as a basis for declaring him unfit for military service.

The official was detained while receiving the first part of the agreed amount. Currently, he has been chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of detention with an alternative to bail. The issue of removal from office is being decided.

If found guilty, the man faces imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.

Earlier, an assistant judge of one of the district courts of Odesa region demanded a bribe from the accused for assistance in closing administrative proceedings. The suspect demanded UAH 41,000 from the accused for assistance in closing the case of repeated driving without a driver's license.

Law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to the inspector of the district territorial center for manning and social support of extortion and receiving a bribe for securing a reservation from mobilization.

Police and the Security Service of Ukraine also detained the acting head of one of the district administrations of Odesa City Council in Odesa. According to law enforcement officers, in prior conspiracy with unidentified persons, he asked an entrepreneur for UAH 100,000 for a positive decision on the approval of the placement of four trade kiosks. In addition, the entrepreneur had to pay a thousand hryvnias in kickbacks for each kiosk on a monthly basis.
