A resident of Kherson region, who headed the territorial department of the Genichesk occupation administration, was sentenced to 10 years in prison

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Kherson Regional and Genichesk District Prosecutor's Offices, the court found a resident of Novooleksiyivka guilty of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. He was also deprived of the right to hold positions or engage in activities related to the performance of organizational, administrative or administrative and economic functions for a period of 15 years.

The press service noted that prosecutors proved that the convict collaborated with the enemy and took the position of the so-called "head of the Novoalekseevsk territorial administration" in the illegally created body, the "Genicheskaya military-civilian administration". In this pseudo-position, he performed organizational, administrative, and economic functions. Introducing himself to the propaganda Russian media as the "chairman of the village council" and "head of the administration", he gave interviews in which he supported the activities of illegally created and controlled by the occupiers bodies, and approved the pseudo-referendum.

Earlier it was reported that a former accountant of the Kherson Architectural Control Department, who worked for the enemy under a pseudonym, will be tried in Kherson region. The investigation established that in July 2022, the accused, having agreed to cooperate with the enemy, took the position of the so-called "Head of the Revenue and Consolidated Budget of the Department of Budget and Finance" in the illegal administration of Kherson region.

The SBU also served suspicion notices of aiding the occupiers to two other residents of Kherson region.
