In Kherson region, four local residents who held positions in illegal law enforcement agencies during the occupation of the region were served with suspicion notices in absentia.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, they are suspected of collaboration under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the suspects include a 30-year-old woman who in the summer of 2022 became the "deputy head of the monitoring and preventive measures department" in the so-called "main department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kherson region." Another suspect, a 40-year-old man, took the position of "deputy head of the Novotroitsk district department for emergency situations" in the fall of the same year.

Two more suspects are men aged 37 and 44. One of them became the "head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kherson region" in the summer of 2022, and the other was appointed "assistant head of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kherson region" in September 2023.

In these positions, the suspects supervised the work of the units and helped to strengthen the position of the occupation authorities among local residents. All of them are currently wanted.

In February, a former law enforcement officer who worked for the Russian invaders during the occupation was detained in Kherson region. He was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration and a custodial measure of restraint was imposed on him.

Previously, investigators served suspicion notices to two residents of Kherson who worked for the enemy in the "police department" during the occupation of the city. These are a 37-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man. They are suspected of voluntarily taking up positions in the illegally created "Suvorov City Police" that operated under the control of the invaders.

A former police major from Kherson region, who voluntarily defected to the occupiers, was also tried. He was found guilty of committing serious criminal offenses, including treason and collaboration. The accused is a native of Illinka village, Kakhovka district, Kherson region, a resident of Fedorivka village, Dariivka community.
