Former director of Hrushevsky Library Anna Severina passes away in Odesa

On October 13, Anna Severina, a veteran librarian and former director of the Mykhailo Hrushevsky Library, passed away in Odesa. She devoted more than 40 years to working in this institution, leaving a deep mark on the cultural life of the city.

This was reported by the press service of the Hrushevsky Odesa Regional Universal Scientific Library.

On October 13, Anna Dmytrivna Severina, a longtime employee of the Mykhailo Hrushevsky Odesa Regional Universal Scientific Library, passed away in Odesa.

According to the press service, Anna Severina devoted more than 40 years to librarianship and work at the Hrushevsky library.

In 1984-1989, she served as the library's director. Her colleagues remember her as a fair, sincere, dedicated person who always supported others with advice and a kind word.

"A large layer of library life is left with Anna Dmytrivna, which we went through together, won victories together, lost something and won again," the statement reads.

The library also reported that the farewell to Anna Severina will take place on October 17 at 10:00 a.m. in the library at: 4 Valikhovsky Lane. The library community and colleagues expressed their deepest condolences to the family and friends.

Also in September, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, researcher at the Odesa Literary Museum Leonid Liptuga, author of the Sculpture Garden and Odesa Courtyard museum projects, passed away. "The Sculpture Garden has 17 compositions and was opened in 1995.

In August, film producer Dmytro Hrokhovskyi, who devoted almost two decades to preserving the Odesa Film Studio, passed away. For the last 18 years, he has been actively working to protect the studio, engaging people and lawyers, spending his own money and thoroughly studying the legislation on joint-stock companies. Thanks to his efforts, two criminal cases against the illegal privatization of the film studio were initiated.
