Service members of the 123rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade announced that they had carried out the world’s first combat mission in which a ground-based robotic system was delivered to the occupied coastline using an unmanned maritime platform.

This was reported by the 123rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade.

According to military officials, the robotic system was transported by an unmanned maritime platform to the enemy shore in the Kinburn sector, after which it was deployed into the occupied territory and used to carry out a combat mission.

The brigade claims that this is the first known combat mission of its kind in the world, in which a ground robot was delivered by an unmanned maritime vehicle and used directly on the battlefield.

According to military officials, the new technology allows missions to be carried out in areas posing an extremely high risk to personnel, particularly along the coast, where landing troops is extremely dangerous.

The brigade noted that the operation was carried out under the leadership of Colonel Oleg Makukha, commander of the 123rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, and organized by Major Denys Gipik, commander of the 1st Unmanned Systems Battalion.

The military emphasized that it will continue to develop robotic and unmanned systems that enable combat missions to be carried out while minimizing risks to Ukrainian defenders.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that following heavy fire, Russian troops were forced to abandon some of their positions on the Kinburn Spit.

Additionally, Ukrainian defenders carried out a successful strike on enemy positions near the occupied town of Pokrovka. The target was a UAV command post belonging to a Russian airborne assault regiment. The Kinburn Spit remains a key point of confrontation in the Mykolaiv region, and the destruction of such a facility significantly limits the enemy’s aerial reconnaissance capabilities in this sector.
