On the night of September 10, a Russian “Shahed” drone attacked the Mykolaiv pretrial detention center. Authorities are currently considering evacuating the people held there.

This was reported by Vasyl Donets, a representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, during a session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council

“Last night,a ‘Shahed’ drone flew over the Mykolaiv pretrial detention center, and now there are many issues regarding the evacuation of convicts and others currently held there,” he noted.

According to Donets, during monitoring visits to places of detention, the Ombudsman’s office has documented systemic human rights violations.

“These include safety and civil protection, liberty and personal integrity, adequate care and medical treatment, accessibility, and dignity, the Ombudsman’s representative listed.

Russian troops have been carrying out massive attacks on Mykolaiv for several days in a row using guided aerial bombs, “Banderole” missiles, and “Shahed” drones. Port and industrial infrastructure, as well as civilian facilities in the city, have come under fire—residential buildings, a hotel, warehouses, an administrative building, a garage, a car, and other structures have sustained damage.

Four people were killed as a result of the attacks, and another 19 were injured, including four children. Fires broke out at the impact sites but were extinguished by morning.

While extinguishing the fire at the hotel, rescuers saved four people, including two young children.

Earlier, in the Mykolaiv region, a driver was killed as a result of a Russian attack involving strike drones. The enemy targeted the region’s transportation and civilian infrastructure.
