For telling the truth about Kherson and the war: American correspondent is awarded an order

American journalist and war correspondent Zarina Zabriskie, known for her reports from Kherson and other frontline regions of Ukraine, has received the Order. The award was given for her work documenting the consequences of Russian aggression.

The relevant decree was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The journalist was awarded the Order of Merit III degree on the occasion of Journalist's Day.

The journalist received the state award for her significant contribution to the development of the Ukrainian information sphere, high professionalism and dedication to work while covering events related to Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.

Zabriskie became one of the foreign journalists who systematically told the world audience about the consequences of Russian aggression, in particular about the events in Kherson region after the occupation and liberation of the region.

The award ceremony took place on the occasion of Journalist's Day, which is traditionally celebrated in Ukraine on June 6.

In May, American journalist Zarina Zabriskie, who documents Russian war crimes, announced her return to Kherson amid new drone attacks and the so-called "truce." According to her, the city continues to live under the threat of drones that lie in wait for people near the roads and spread Russian propaganda.

The journalist also noted that her friends from Kherson are talking about new tactics of Russian drones. In particular, they are talking about artificial intelligence drones that can lurk near roads in search of targets for attack.

The journalist is also known for her documentary Kherson:Human Safari, a chronicle of Russian terror. The film shows the truth about life under occupation, the struggle for freedom, the crimes of the Russians and the modern reality of Kherson in the context of drone warfare.
