An agricultural export company in Odesa region had been evading taxes for some time. Such actions caused damage to the state budget in excess of UAH 12 million.

According to the BES territorial office, the company's financial director will be tried for tax fraud. The case against him has been sent to court.

According to detectives, the company tried to export 5,000 tons of unaccounted for soybeans through the ports of Greater Odesa to one of the European Union countries. The company had no documents on the origin of the products.

The investigation found that the director deliberately failed to reflect the company's receipt of beans in the tax returns for the first quarter of 2024. As a result of such actions, the company evaded paying UAH 12.6 million in taxes.

Despite the compensation of damages, the defendant will still be prosecuted for intentional tax evasion under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces a fine of up to UAH 425 thousand.

Recently, the BES detectives completed a pre-trial investigation into the intentional tax evasion on a particularly large scale by a company exporting agricultural products, namely wheat and corn.

Earlier, a company exporting sunflower oil in Odesa region also evaded taxes. These actions caused losses to the state budget of almost five million hryvnias.

In addition, the BES reported that a grain export company in Odesa region intentionally evaded taxes on a particularly large scale. The case against the head of the exporting company was also sent to court.

Earlier, an agricultural exporting company in Odesa region was forced to pay more than four million hryvnias in damages to the state budget.
