Electricity has been rationed in Crimea, and water has been cut off in 35 settlements

Restrictions on electricity supply remain in effect throughout the occupied Crimea.

This was reported by Krym.Realii, citing the occupying company "Krymenergo."

According to the company, power outages are being implemented on an ad hoc basis, depending on the situation in individual power districts.

As a result, power supply issues have affected the entire Crimea. The Russian side does not specify in the report the reasons for the restrictions or their duration.

Meanwhile, on August 16, water supply was also restricted in 35 settlements on the peninsula. According to the Russian company “Voda Krymu,” this is due to repair work.

It was recently reported that, due to problems with the energy infrastructure, the annexed Crimea is becoming an uncomfortable place to live. An exodus of people from the northern regions of the peninsula has been observed.

Previously, large-scale problems in the energy sector in annexed Crimea began in July, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces intensified strikes on local energy facilities in response to Russia’s actions. Some settlements on the peninsula were left without power for severaldays. 

In Sevastopol, strictpower-outage scheduleshave been implemented. Local consumers are being switched to a schedule of six hours without power followed by two hours with power. Residents were told that due to a significant power shortage in Crimea’s power grid, it has become impossible to adhere to the previous “3 on, 3 off” schedule.
