Director of Municipal Property Service in Odesa found with 2 million in cash

The interim mayor of Odesa, Ihor Koval, has appointed a new director of the municipal institution Municipal Communal Property Service of the Odesa City Council.

According to the Center for Public Investigations, the announcement was made by the municipality's press service.

Serhiy Symonenkov was temporarily appointed as the new director of the utility. In his candidate declaration, the new director stated that he, along with his wife and Artem Symonenkov, apparently his son given his patronymic, owns a 55.1-square-meter apartment in Odesa. The director's wife, Natalia Simonenkova, owns a 600-square-meter plot of land in Berdiansk.

Serhii Symonenkov drives a 2021 Lancia Ypsilon, and his income consists of: 400.6 thousand hryvnias as deputy director of the municipal institution "Municipal Service of Communal Property of the Odesa City Council", 267.3 thousand hryvnias of pension, 3.9 thousand hryvnias of additional benefits, 1.5 thousand hryvnias of payments from trade unions, 1 thousand hryvnias of winter support, and 3.2 thousand hryvnias of national cashback. Another 187 thousand was earned by Serhiy Symonenkov's wife through her business. Sergiy Symonenkov has UAH 2 million in cash as family savings.

The municipal institution "Municipal Service of Communal Property of Odesa City Council" is engaged in: inventory of real estate of non-residential property owned by the territorial community of Odesa, control over the use of non-residential premises by utilities founded by Odesa City Council, and submits proposals to the mayor, the city council and its executive committee on the expediency of using such premises by utilities.

It is also responsible for automotive, technical support and maintenance of administrative premises, computer and office equipment, and other equipment on the balance sheet of the Department of Communal Property of Odesa City Council.
