A Kherson teacher will stand trial for collaborating with the Russian occupiers during the seizure of the city. She organized education according to Russian standards, managed the admission campaign and facilitated the "evacuation" of the university to the left bank of the Dnipro River.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Juvenile prosecutors have completed an investigation into a local university teacher who worked for the aggressor state during the occupation of the city. An indictment was sent to court under articles on collaboration and aiding the enemy.

The investigation established that the accused, being the dean of one of the faculties of Kherson National Technical University, voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the occupiers. In July 2022, she took up the position of the so-called "first vice-rector" of the illegally created "Kherson Technical University".

In this position, the woman organized the educational process according to Russian standards: she conducted classes in Russian, managed the admission campaign, coordinated orders on student enrollment and implemented programs developed in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation.

She was also involved in the employment of teachers, coordinated the work of faculties and departments, established contacts with Russian educational institutions and participated in the "evacuation" of the university to the left bank of the Dnipro in the fall of 2022.

In October, the former director of the Palace of Creativity was convicted in Kherson region and sentenced to six years for aiding the aggressor state. Under her leadership, Ukrainian symbols were replaced with Russian ones and facade signs were updated at the Genichesk Palace of Children and Youth Creativity.

The defendant pleaded guilty in court, explaining that she took the position due to difficult personal circumstances and a desire to keep the children's center open. The court took into account her sincere repentance and assistance in solving the crime, and therefore imposed a sentence less than the minimum threshold provided for in Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
