This was reported by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.
The annual award was announced by the international organization RAW in WAR (Reach All Women in War). The decision was presented by Mariana Katsarova, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights violations in Russia, during an evening commemorating Anna Politkovskaya at the European Parliament.
Among this year’s laureates is Melitopol-based journalist Anastasia Glukhovska, who was unlawfully detained by Russian security forces on August 20, 2023. According to available information, she is being held in Pretrial Detention Center No. 3 in the city of Kizel, Perm Krai. The aggressor country does not officially acknowledge the journalist’s detention and has not provided any information about her condition.
Irina Levchenko, a 65-year-old journalist, was detained along with her husband on May 6, 2023, in occupied Melitopol. In September 2026, an occupation court sentenced her to 15 years in prison on charges of “espionage.” She is currently being held in the Mariupol pretrial detention center.

In October 2025, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced her to 14 years in a penal colony on charges of “collaborating with Ukrainian intelligence” and “participating in a terrorist organization.”
Crimean citizen journalist Irina Danilovich was detained on April 29, 2022, following a search of her home. In December of that same year, an occupation court sentenced her to seven years in prison. Danilovich is currently being held at Women’s Penitentiary No. 7 in Zelenokumsk, Stavropol Krai.
Viktoria Roshchina was honored posthumously. She reported on the siege of Mariupol and Russia’s war crimes in the occupied territories. In August 2023, the journalist was taken prisoner by the Russians, and in September 2024, she died in captivity.
