Two officials from the occupying administrations of Crimea will stand trial. They are accused of collaboration.

This was reported by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

According to the investigation, both defendants are Ukrainian citizens who voluntarily agreed to cooperate with representatives of the aggressor state and joined the leadership of the so-called local self-government bodies.

One of the defendants was appointed “head of the Yevpatoria city administration” in May 2024. The other defendant became “deputy head of the Saki District administration” in September 2023.

According to the investigation, by leading the occupation administrations and ensuring the implementation of illegal orders, both defendants facilitated the functioning of the aggressor state’s authority on the peninsula.

The defendants are charged with collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The penalty under this article provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment.

Recently, the court handed down a verdict to an employee of the Donetsk Drama Theater who, during the occupation of Kherson, served in the ranks of the illegal armed group “DNR” and was on duty at a checkpoint near the Antonivsky Bridge.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with confiscation of property and a ban on holding positions in government bodies and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also on trial was 50-year-oldcollaborator Olga Baranovska, who, following the occupation of the Kherson region, defected to the Russian Federation and headed the occupation administration of Malaya Lepetykha; she was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
