Olha Makohoniuk, a member of the Odesa City Council and acting CEO of Odesa International Airport, has published her declaration for 2025. The document demonstrates the contrasting financial success of the couple: while the deputy takes out bank loans, her husband buys a luxury car.

According to the Center for Public Investigations, the main upgrade in the family was the ZEEKR 7X electric car purchased in 2025. The new car cost Mykola Makohoniuk, the official's husband, UAH 1,593,130. The money for the purchase probably came after the sale of an apartment in Odesa for UAH 2.56 million, which he bought in 2018 for much less.

Olga Makohoniuk herself continues to use a 2020 Toyota RAV4. The family also owns non-residential premises in Avangard and Zatoka, land plots in Odesa and the region, and a 58 m² residential building.

Income and strange loans

During her year as head of the airport, the MP earned more than UAH 481 thousand. Interestingly, despite her stable salary, she took out three loans from different banks (Universal Bank, PrivatBank, and FUIB) totaling UAH 230 thousand. The official also did not neglect state aid, receiving payments under the cashback and winter support programs.

The deputy's husband, who works in the analytics department of the city council, earned UAH 803 thousand over the year and increased his cash savings from $10 thousand to $30 thousand.

The declaration also includes a bail of 400 thousand hryvnias. As a reminder, Olga Makohoniuk is a defendant in the SAPO case on abuse of office. The investigation believes that her actions led to the transfer of the airport property to a private company, which caused UAH 15.6 million in damage to the community.

In June last year, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine approved a plea agreement with seven people who were members of a criminal organization that established control over the Odesa City Council and received profits from business entities operating in Odesa. Businessmen Borys Kaufman and Alex Borukhovych pleaded guilty to organizing the seizure of the Odesa municipal airport and the proceeds from its activities.

In addition to oligarchs Borys Kaufman and Alex Borukhovych, the case involved the former mayor of Odesa Oleksiy Kostusev, former deputy mayor of Odesa Mykhailo Kuchuk, director of Odesa Airport Development LLC Oleksiy Kochanov, Kaufman's trustee Konstantin Yefremov, and co-owner of Clear City Petro Bahriy.
