In Odesa region, the BES uncovered embezzlement of property of a state defense enterprise. The case was referred to the court.
This was reported by the Bureau of Economic Security.
The investigation found that the defense enterprise entered into an agreement with a commercial company to modernize the stands for testing engines and a turbine generator. However, the contractor did not perform the work in full, which resulted in losses to the state-owned enterprise in the amount of over UAH 2 million.
During the investigation, BES detectives conducted three authorized searches, seizing cell phones, money, weapons and ammunition.
Investigators served the heads of both companies suspicion notices under Articles 191 and 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Their property and seized valuables were seized. The indictment has already been sent to court.
Also in Mykolaiv region, the heads of defense and commercial enterprises were served with a notice of suspicion of embezzlement of more than two million hryvnias and forgery of documents.
In addition, it became known that the case of the former head of one of the departments of the Odesa City Council was sent to court. The official is accused of embezzling over UAH 4 million from the city budget. The head of the department, in collusion with his accomplices, transferred funds to the account of a fictitious company to purchase oxygen generators needed for medical institutions. However, the amount was artificially inflated by adding VAT, despite the fact that these generators were exempt from value added tax.
Earlier, the case of the former deputy head and the current head of one of the departments of the Odesa Regional State Administration was brought to court. They are accused of abuse of office, which caused damage to the state in excess of UAH 9 million.
