Australia has imposed sanctions on the occupied Artek in Crimea

Australia has imposed a new round of sanctions, which includes the "Artek" children's center in occupied Crimea. The facility's director,Konstantin Fedorenko, is also subject to the sanctions.

The restrictions include the freezing of assets belonging to sanctioned entities and a travel ban on individuals on the list.

The documents were signed during the UN General Assembly in New York. Along with “Artek,” other children’s facilities and organizations have also been sanctioned, includingthe “Orlenok” and “Smena” camps and the “Movement of the First” organization.

Now, the accounts and property of all individuals and organizations on this list have been frozen in Australia. It is prohibited to provide them with funds, property, or other assets without the appropriate authorization. For individuals, a complete ban on entry into the country has also been imposed.

As previously reported by Intent, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated during a speech at the Crimean Platform that Russia’s occupation of the peninsula in 2014 was the root cause of the current global rise in energy and food prices. According to him, stabilizing global grain and diesel markets and restoring security to the Black Sea is possible only through the complete liberation of Crimea.

He noted that people in many countries are now paying more just to get by, while others are forced to fight for their lives simply because one person decided he could redraw borders as he pleased.
