The fires were extinguished, but putting them out was no easy task. Due to constant air raid sirens and the threat of repeated strikes, firefighters had to stop their work repeatedly and retreat to safe areas.
More than 70 rescuers from the State Emergency Service were deployed to address the aftermath.
Due to the nighttime attack, part of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district was left without power, according to a statement on the DTEK Odesa Power Grids website.
As soon as the security situation allowed, specialists began repair work. “We are working to restore power as quickly as possible,” DTEK stated.
The Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City Council reported that due to the power outage, water in the city will be supplied by generators on a schedule: from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Schools in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi are operating in-person today.
The day before, a Russian “Shahed” drone struck the “Tavria V” supermarket in Mayaky, Odesa Oblast. This occurred on the afternoon of October 15. The moment of impact was captured on video.
