About 36,000 children in Crimea have been recruited into Yunarmiya

The occupiers have already recruited about 36,000 Crimean children into the ranks of "Yunarmiya." At the same time, the number of participants in Russia’s “First Movement” on the peninsula has grown from 12,000 in 2023 to 185,000, extending even to preschool institutions.

This is according to data from the "Almenda" Center for Civic Education.

Children in the occupied territories of Ukraine are forced to wear military uniforms and are recruited into military-patriotic events. Meetings are also organized for them with Russian servicemen who participated inthe so-called “special military operation.”

The “Almenda” Center for Civic Education, together with Ukrainian and Czech partners, held a series of events called “Crimean Days” in Prague and Brno. The events focused on the situation of people on the temporarily occupied peninsula, violations of international law, and the consequences of the Russian occupation for European security.

As Intent previously reported,the United States has approved a $12 million program to assist Ukrainian children who have been successfully returned from Russia and the occupied territories. The funds will be used for their rehabilitation and reintegration into normal life.

Another $15 million program, which involves locating, identifying, and returning Ukrainian children, has been submitted for consideration. A decision on this program is expected by the end of 2026.
