A woman was convicted in Kherson for making payments to Russian military personnel

A resident of Kherson was convicted of collaborating with the occupying authorities during the city’s capture. She organized the processing and payment of pensions and financial allowances to Russian military personnel, as well as to representatives of the occupying law enforcement and judicial agencies.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office,

in July 2022, a Kherson resident agreed to work for a body illegally established by the occupiers, which was responsible for providing services to military personnel and other categories of citizens. The woman was given a managerial position there and organized the work of a department responsible for financial payments.

In this role, she coordinated staff, oversaw document flow, and organized the processing of pension and other payments to Russian military personnel. This also included representatives of the occupying law enforcement and judicial bodies.

According to the case file, the woman oversaw the process of calculating funds and made decisions regarding their disbursement in Russian rubles. In this way, she ensured the operation of a unit within the occupying authority that made financial payments to representatives of the Russian military and occupying authorities.

The court found the woman guilty and sentenced her to 8 years in prison with the confiscation of all her property. She was also barred from holding positions in state and local government bodies for 12 years.

The court also imposed a pretrial measure on a man suspected of voluntarily collaborating with the occupying authorities, organizing a “Yunarmiya” cell in the Kherson region, and participating in combat operations on the side of the Russian Federation.
