A woman from Mykolaiv was sent to a pretrial detention center for coordinating attacks on military units

A resident of Mykolaiv has been placed under a preventive measure. According to law enforcement officials, she was gathering information on the locations of Ukrainian military personnel in the city and passing it on to a representative of the aggressor country.

This is evidenced by a ruling from the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the investigation, the Mykolaiv resident corresponded via Telegram with a user named “Yevgeny,” whom law enforcement officials believe to be a representative of the aggressor state. Investigators claim that the correspondent was gathering information, specifically regarding the locations of Ukrainian military personnel and possible adjustments to strikes in the Mykolaiv region.

The first incident involved a pontoon bridge. In June, the man asked the woman if there was a checkpoint there and whether it was possible to cross the bridge freely. The woman told the contact that the bridge was blocked on both sides and described the fencing and nearby objects. In particular, she mentioned a two-story building, a bus, and a large number of water containers. 

In another episode, the woman described the situation near Admiralska Street, specifically a checkpoint, soldiers, and streets blocked off with concrete slabs and anti-tank barriers. She also mentioned a building that, in her words, still needed to be “monitored.” In the third episode, the caller asked her to verify information about a military unit near the bridge in the direction of Odesa Highway.

The next day, the woman reported the results of her surveillance. She described the number and types of buses and cars, as well as the soldiers leaving the area. 

In court, the woman pleaded guilty; however, she and her attorney objected to her being held in custody and requested that bail be set. The prosecution insisted on her arrest. As a result, she was remanded in custody for 60 days, though the judge did not set bail.

Also, in late July, a soldier was tried in the Mykolaiv region for filming the movement of Ukrainian Armed Forces military equipment and posting the video on the popular social media platform TikTok.
