A soldier from Kherson region, who came out of occupation, became a Hero of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Crimean Tatar serviceman Alim Abduramanov, call sign Tatarin. The head of state signed the relevant decree on May 5, 2026.

According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, the 31-year-old chief sergeant of the reconnaissance company received the highest state award - the Order of the Golden Star - for personal courage and heroism in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Alim Abduramanov was born in the village of Novotroitske. In 2015, he participated in the ATO in Donetsk region.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the soldier found himself under occupation in the Kherson region. Despite the danger, he was able to leave the occupied territory, overcoming Russian checkpoints to defend Ukraine again.

Initially, Alim planned to join the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, but later joined the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade.

In November 2022, the soldier was seriously injured and lost a limb. Despite this, he continued his service with a prosthesis.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center noted that the story of Alim Abduramanov is an example of courage, steadfastness and devotion to Ukraine.

Recently, a mural dedicated to Ukrainian soldiers who took part in the battles in the Kherson region and the southern direction and gave their lives for Ukraine was created in Odesa. The mural depicts three soldiers of the 39th Separate Marine Brigade - Svyatoslav Aleksapolsky, Vitaliy Nesterenko and Denys Kucherenko.

As a reminder, on the morning of May 3, the Russian military attacked Kherson with drones. Around 05:50, a civilian car transporting employees of a local enterprise was hit.

Shortly after the first attack, the occupiers made a second attack. An ambulance that arrived at the scene came under fire.
