A ship explodes at the mouth of the Danube, killing three people

Late in the evening, on July 23, an emergency occurred with a dredger belonging to the Delta Pilot branch of the State Enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

According to the official statement, three USPA employees were killed in the explosion. Other crew members are in the hospital and are being provided with all necessary medical care. Relevant services are working. Details of the incident are being clarified. The results will be announced later.

It is known that the vessel was at the mouth of the Bystre for scheduled work with 11 crew members. The channel of the Bystre estuary is temporarily closed to ship traffic. The passage of vessels to/from the seaports of the Danube region is currently carried out through the Sulyn Canal.

The State Emergency Service was involved: 14 units of equipment and 67 firefighters, and the Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ukraine - one unit of equipment and three personnel.

And our journalists filmed the aftermath of a nighttime UAV attack on Odesa: residential buildings were damaged, large-scale fires and destruction occurred, including in a high-rise building. At least three people were injured, five were rescued from the rubble, and the city suffered significant losses of civilian infrastructure.

A nine-story residential building sustained the most damage. In one of the entrances, apartments from the 5th to the 8th floor were completely destroyed. Dog handlers are searching for possible victims . Rescue operations are ongoing.
