Ukrainian defenders have launched another strike against occupied Crimea. A Russian Su-24M fighter jet and four pieces of airport equipment were destroyed at the Saki airfield.

This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the head of state, the results of previous strikes by Ukrainian forces have been confirmed. Specifically, a Russian Su-24M aircraft was destroyed at theSaki airfield in occupied Crimea, and four pieces of airfield equipment were also hit.

The Su-24M is a Soviet/Russian front-line bomber developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau, designed to strike ground and sea targets, particularly at night and in adverse weather conditions. It features variable-sweep wings, a two-person crew, and carries a wide range of weapons—from aerial bombs to guided missiles.

Its range without refueling is approximately 2,500–2,800 km, and its maximum speed is up to 1,700 km/h. In the war against Ukraine, Russia is actively using these aircraft to strike targets with guided aerial bombs (KAB).

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine specified that six ground-based relay stations used to control “Geran”/“Gerbera”-type attack drones were also struck in occupied Crimea.

Two relay stations were destroyed in the Steregushche area, three near Olenivka, and another in the Chornomorsk area.

Ground-based relay stations facilitate the transmission of control and communication signals between the operator and the drone, thereby increasing the range and stability of drone operations.

The General Staff emphasized that operations against key military targets of Russian forces are ongoing.

As reported by Intent, on the night of August 12, the Defense Forces also struck a Russian ground relay station in Crimea.
