By the end of the year, work will start on the M-15 Odesa-Reni (Bucharest) national importance highway to arrange a parking lot for vehicles and drivers' rest.

This was reported by the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Odesa region.

The project envisages the creation of a temporary stopping area at km 307+070 on the left, near the Reni-Giurgiulesti checkpoint. Based on the results of a tender in the Prozorro system, ROSTDORSTROI LLC was awarded the contract for the work. The cost of the project is UAH 179.46 million (excluding VAT), and it is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025.

The Restoration Service notes that the project will reduce the load on the checkpoint, improve logistics, and create comfortable conditions for drivers and passengers. The new facility will become part of the border infrastructure, improving its quality and functionality. The planned site will include 46 spaces for trucks and 13 spaces for cars, including two spaces for people with disabilities.

The project is financed on a co-financing basis: 50% of the funds are provided by the European Union under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program, and the rest - from the state budget of Ukraine. According to the Restoration Service, the project is part of the European Solidarity Roads initiative, which promotes the integration of Ukrainian transport routes into the European network and expands opportunities for exports and bilateral trade with the EU.

Earlier, the company of the Izmail MP won the right to maintain roads in Odesa region for 780 million. The Service for Infrastructure Restoration and Development in Odesa Oblast held an auction to select a company that will pay for the operational maintenance of public roads of national importance.

Also, the Road Department of the Odesa City Council re-conducted a tender to select a contractor that will be paid UAH 8 million 857.8 thousand for the current repair of the city's municipal road network.
