In the Odesa region, an indictment has been filed against a local resident who organized illegal travel abroad. The cost of a single “ticket” to Chisinau was 25,000 U.S. dollars.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations.

According to investigators, the defendant promised to arrange travel to Moldova using forged disability documents. The organizer was supposed to drive the man there. At the border crossing, they were to be allowed to pass without inspection, as agreed.

The accused took a $2,000 deposit immediately. The conscript was to pay the remaining amount after the documents were prepared. The arrest took place at the moment the funds were handed over.

The defendant faces up to 9 years in prison.

A foreign national will also stand trial for issuing fictitiousBulgarian citizenship to a man subject to military service in exchange for 11,000 euros. The set of documents was then to be used for traveling abroad. The investigation notes that, to issue a fake foreign passport, the defendant committed criminal acts to confirm the Ukrainian’s Bulgarian origin. In particular, family ties were fabricated. For example, a woman who was a complete stranger was supposed to serve as the client’s “grandmother.” She was indeed a citizen of the Republic of Bulgaria, but she was not related to the man from Odesa. Her official information was used to create a fake “family tree” and, consequently, a basis for acquiring Bulgarian citizenship by descent.
