A resident of the Kherson region was sentenced to ten years in prison for being elected as a deputy representing the occupying forces

<span><span><span><span><span><span>A 50-year-old resident of Kakhovka was sentenced for participating in illegal elections in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region and for being elected as a “deputy” representing a Russian party. The court sentenced him to 10 years in prison.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kherson region. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>The investigation established that in 2023, the convicted man voluntarily participated in the illegal elections. Later, in his capacity as a “deputy,” he participated in sessions of the illegal body and served on “standing committees on social and budgetary issues, as well as on the economy and investments.”</span></span></span></span></span></span>

In the Kherson region,<span><span><span><span><span><span>a company director </span></span></span></span></span></span> will also face trial<span><span><span><span><span><span>for carrying out repairs for the occupiers. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

The investigation established that, following the occupationof Crimea, the defendant registered a construction company under Russian law and headed it. She subsequently collaborated with the occupying authorities of the aggressor state. 

In particular, throughout 2024, the company under her control entered into a series of contracts with the illegally established Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office and, pursuant to those contracts, carried out major repairs to roofs, facades, electrical systems, and interiors of the administrative buildings of the occupying authority in Henichesk. Her company also supplied automatic gates to the enemy. The total value of the contracts amounted to over 11 million Russian rubles.
