A resident of Kherson publicly supported the actions of the occupiers

A resident of Kherson, who publicly supports the actions of the aggressor state, was suspected.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The report says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, a local resident was served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of recognizing the legitimacy of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine through the use of the media (Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the supporter of the "Russian world", ignoring the extraordinary humanitarian situation caused by the invasion and occupation of the region by Russia, publicly expressed support for the aggressor. In his numerous interviews with Russian propaganda media, where he was positioned as a volunteer, he not only thanked his friends from the "Russian Crimea" for the food for animals, but also spread outright lies about the noble intentions of the invaders. Thus, in September 2022, at a forum organized by the occupation authorities "We are together with Russia", the suspect expressed hope for the creation of a new Kherson province within Russia and fueled Kremlin narratives about the destruction of education through the processes of Ukrainization.

The unlawful nature of his statements, which were disseminated in the media and social networks, was confirmed by forensic examinations.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that a local resident was suspected of producing anti-Ukrainian content that justified the occupation of Kherson region.

The occupying head of the Kamenskaya community will also be tried in Kherson region. The investigation established that the 50-year-old defendant in September 2022 took the position of the so-called "head of the Kamenskoye TU of the Kakhovka VGA". In this position, the woman contributed to the formation of an illegal authority and was responsible for its functioning.
