The head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Mykolaiv region has been replaced. Andriy Masharo has been appointed as the new director.
This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv.
The new head was introduced by Volodymyr Demchuk, deputy head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, also took part in the event.
Prior to his appointment in the Mykolaiv region, Andriy Masharo headed the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
In his previous position, he was responsible for organizing the work of rescue units, responding to emergencies, and coordinating civil protection forces under martial law.
Prior to this,the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region was headed by Major General of the Civil Protection Service Mykola Panasenko. After 34 years of service in the State Emergency Service, he retired.
On the night of July 1 and into the early morning, Russian occupation forces attacked the Mykolaiv region with strike drones. As a result of the enemy strike, a large-scale fire broke out at a home improvement store in the town of Snigurivka.
State Emergency Service firefighters extinguished the blaze, which covered an area of 5,000 square meters.
On the morning of July 1, a Russian strike drone struck a facility in the city of Nova Odesa in the Mykolaiv region. One man was killed, and three others sustained injuries of varying severity. The victim of the attack was a 66-year-old truck driver who was on the premises at the time. All of the injured were hospitalized.
Earlier, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Mykolaiv. The attack damaged private residential buildings—windows were shattered and roofs were damaged in several homes. Five people were injured—three men and two women. All were hospitalized.
