A member of the Kherson City Council resigned from office before the end of his term

The Kherson City Military Administration prematurely terminated the powers of Oleksiy Zabolotny, a member of the Kherson City Council, who resigned from his position at his own request.

The corresponding order was signed by Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration .

The basis for this decision was Zabolotny’s personal statement dated September 22 regarding his resignation from his position as a council member.

The order does not specify the reasons why he decided to resign.

Zabolotny was also removed from the city council’s standing committee on finance, budget planning, investments, regulatory policy, and socio-economic development.

Oleksiy Zabolotny was elected to the Kherson City Council in 2020 as a candidate for the “Opposition Platform—For Life” party. At the time of the election, he headed the city’s Department of Youth and Sports and was a member of that party.

Previously, he also served as a council member of the Kherson City Council’s 7th convocation. At that time, he was elected as a member of the “Opposition Bloc.”

In his annual declaration for 2025, Zabolotny reported 125,000 hryvnias in salary from a sports club in Germany—specifically, the Universitat Sport Club.

In terms of real estate, the deputy declared a 34% ownership stake in a 70-square-meter apartment in Kherson. He acquired ownership on November 13, 2001; the value of the property is not specified in the declaration.

Zabolotny’s declaration and those of his family members do not list any other real estate, vehicles, valuable movable property, securities, or corporate rights.

Earlier,Shanko signed an order terminating the powers ofYuriy Stelmashchenko, a member of the Kherson City Council, ahead of schedule.
