A married couple died in an explosion at sea near Kobleve

In the resort village of Koblevo in the Mykolaiv region, an anti-landing mine explosion in the Black Sea claimed the lives of a married couple—their 16-year-old daughter and another woman were injured.

This was reported by Georgy Reshetilov, acting head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

A 43-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were killed in the explosion. Their 16-year-old daughter was injured—she received medical care and will continue to receive outpatient treatment.

A 40-year-old woman was also injured—she was hospitalized in serious condition.

According to Reshetilov, the tragedy occurred on a section of the coastline that was closed off and fenced. Warning signs about the danger of mines had also been posted there.

Despite the restrictions, people crossed the barriers and entered the dangerous area.

“I understand people’s desire to have access to the sea and the demand to open the coastline in Koblevo. But today’s tragedy proves once again: no decision to open the beaches can be made until experts confirm that it is safe to be there. The price of hasty decisions can be too high, and it will be paid with human lives,” the head of the Regional Military Administration emphasized.

He urged residents and vacationers not to ignore the barriers and warning signs, and not to enter closed sections of the coastline or go into the water.

This is not the first explosion in the sea near Koblevo this summer. On August 7, a 45-year-old man who was in the water died there. Two other women who were on the shore were injured.
