<span><span><span><span><span><span>This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

The Kherson resident died from his injuries. His identityhas not yet been established.

<span><span><span><span><span><span>"Pelyustka" (PFM-1) anti-personnel mines are delayed-action explosive devices designed to incapacitate personnel by damaging the lower limbs. Due to their compact size, plastic casing, and distinctive shape—resembling a child’s toy or a leaf—they often go unnoticed in the grass or on the ground. What makes these mines particularly insidious is that they are typically scattered in large numbers using remote-controlled mining systems, and even the slightest pressure—as little as a few kilograms—is enough to detonate them. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

Earlier in Kherson, Russian shelling destroyed the last functioning boxing gym where teenagers trained. The children and their coach filmed a video inside the damaged facility. They said they were supposed to train at noon but found their gym in ruins.

The coach and members of the boxing team appealed to the International Olympic Committee, calling for Russian athletes to be barred from participating in international competitions.

The president posthumously awarded the Order of Merit, Third Class, to Khersondoctor Serhiy Dmytriyev, who died on July 2 at his workplace as a result of a deliberate Russian strike on the hospital.
